The system works by dispensing water based on the soil's moisture level. As the soil dries out, the porous terracotta clay cone gradually releases water into the surrounding earth, creating a vacuum that draws water from the container through the silicone tube. Once the soil is adequately moistened, the watering stake will reduce or stop the flow of water.

You can adjust the water flow by positioning the reservoir. If the stake is over-watering, lower the reservoir up to 7 inches below the cap. If it's under-watering, raise the reservoir relative to the stake. For a quick fix on a curled tube, submerge it in hot water above 176°F for 10 minutes.
